OEH Faculty and Student Recognized at AIHCE

Dr. Jun Wang, an assistant professor and faculty member of the Department of Occupational and Environmental Health (OEH), was honored by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) as the recipient of Golden Seed Award.

This prestigious award recognizes faculty who have made significant contributions to industrial hygiene in the area of student development, mentoring, or early career guidance; demonstrated a commitment to promoting the profession of industrial hygiene; demonstrated commitment to advancing the profession among students and early career professionals; and/or demonstrated commitment by providing guidance and mentorship to students or early career professionals.

Dr. Wang received the Golden Seed Award during the annual American Industrial Hygiene Conference & Exposition (AIHCE) in Philadelphia, PA. The award was presented to him by the current AIHA president Dr. Debora Nelson (a former OEH faculty and OU alumni) during the Mark of Excellence Reception.

Marcio L.S. Bezerra, an OEH doctoral candidate mentored by Dr. Wang, received multiple awards during AIHCE. Marcio was sponsored by AIHA to attend the meeting, while receiving the prestigious Rick and Carol Fulwiler Scholarship from the American Industrial Hygiene Foundation. His poster presentation also won the best student poster award selected by AIHA volunteer groups.
