Meet the Hudson Fellows

Pawan Acharya

Pawan Acharya

Pawan Acharya received his MS in Public Health at the University of Southern Denmark in 2015.  He also spent more than 5 years working on public health projects in Nepal including developing and implementing the first-ever community based mobile health (mHealth) intervention in Nepal. The program is being adopted by the government and scaled in multiple districts of Nepal.

 

Since joining the Ph.D. in Epidemiology program in fall 2019, he has working as a graduate research assistant for the Strong Heart Study(SHS) as well as several other cancer research projects within the BSE Department. Pawan has served as secretary for the Epidemiologic Research Student Association (ERSA)-2020-2021 and social chair and secretary for the Biostatistics and Epidemiology Student Association (BSESA) for 2020-2021. Additionally he will be serving as the President of BSESA for 2021-2022. Additionally, he volunteers as a Student Teaching Assistant in Intermediate Epidemiologic Methods. Besides on-campus activities, Pawan volunteers as an Associate Editor of BMC Public Health Journal since 2020 and an ad-hoc peer reviewer for reputed journals in public health such as BMJ Open, Plos One, Journal of Epidemiology and Global Health.
