Meet Current MHA Students

Salman Hamid, M.H.A

  • Salman Hamid (Sal) is a 2nd year MHA student set to graduate May 2020. Sal’s undergraduate degree is in Biochemistry from the University of Oklahoma. He completed his internship at a healthcare technology solutions company called Unite Us in New York City, where he learned more about tackling social determinants of health through innovative technology. Sal currently works as the Graduate Research Assistant for the population health department at OU Physicians, here he has learned about major CMS care models such as OCM and BPCI. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with friends and travelling when he has time. From his experiences, Sal has found a passion in process improvement and population health. He aspires to have a mission driven career in leading innovative healthcare initiatives that will improve the overall patient experience.

Adrian M. Francisco, M.H.A

  • Adrian M. Francisco is currently a manager in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology in the Hudson College of Public Health. Adrian is from Oklahoma City, and completed his bachelors in Biology from East Central University where he graduated with honors. Adrian completed his health administrative internship at the Stephenson Cancer Center in their strategy division, completing various projects for the hospital. After graduation, Adrian will begin an Administrative Fellowship with Norman Regional Health System in Norman Oklahoma. During his time in graduate school, Adrian has served as Treasurer for the College’s student association, and treasurer of the American College of Healthcare Executives Student Affiliate.

Atul Abraham Muttenchery, M.H.A.

  • Atul Abraham Muttenchery is a second year Master of Healthcare Administration student, on the three-year track. He was born in Saudi Arabia and immigrated to the US with his family in 2004. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2018 with degrees in Microbiology and Psychology. He currently serves as the Vice President for the American College of Healthcare Executives Student Association. He also serves as the Community Service Chair, Blood-Drive Chair and Senator for the Hudson-College of Public Health Student Association. Atul is currently doing his internship at the Oklahoma State Department of Health with the Medical Facilities-Trauma Systems Development division. He has also completed his Lean/Six-Sigma green belt certification from OU-Norman.

Shelbi Legg, M.H.A.

  • Shelbi Legg is a 2nd year student MHA student expected to graduate May 2021. Originally from Mustang, Oklahoma, she attended Oklahoma City University on a softball scholarship, where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology. She served as President of the OU chapter of OUHESA (formerly known as ACHE) for the year 2020 as well as the student representative for the Health Administration and Policy Faculty Search Committee. She is also very active with the Sooner Healthcare Executives, where she serves on the Education and Networking Committee as the Social and Service Events Coordinator. Shelbi works as a medical assistant to a general surgeon at St. Anthony Hospital and would like to continue to work closely with physicians and hospital staff in operations or strategy after graduation.
