The Master of Public Health is a 44-credit-hour program of study that prepares graduates for careers in the development, implementation and evaluation of programmatic activity in health services organizations.
The MPH has six Core Courses:
- Biostatistics Methods I
- Principles of Epidemiology
- Social and Behavioral Sciences in Public Health
- Environmental Health
- U.S. Health Care System
- Integrated Public Health Practice
The Department also requires the following courses for all MPH students:
- Organizational Theory and Behavior
- Health Economics
- Public Health Law and Regulations
- Health Forecasting and Budgeting
- Health Policy and Politics
- Health Care Quality Management
- Public Health Practicum
Six credit-hours are reserved for electives, and two credit-hours are awarded for the Public Health Practicum. The Practicum requires a minimum of 240 contact hours by the student.
