Meet the Hudson Fellows

Mary L. Williams

Mary L Williams received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Anthropology from the University of Oklahoma and her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology at the OU Hudson College of Public Health. She is a fourth-year PhD candidate in Epidemiology and has worked as a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) since 2018. She is interested in studying factors impacting the health of those with disabilities and has spent time as a student working on disability research. Mary has presented her findings from secondary data analysis measuring health disparities of chronic health conditions for people with disabilities compared to those without disabilities, as well as exploring the agreement of disability measures at the American Public Health Association (APHA) National meeting and the OUHSC Graduate Research Education and Technology (GREAT) symposium. She is expanding this research for her dissertation topics. She is a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) fellow, where she gained leadership and interdisciplinary teamwork experience while pursuing research in disability health. Mary spends her free time talking with family and friends, traveling, and listening to music.
