Hudson College of Public Health Grand Rounds

The Hudson College of Public Health serves as host for public health grand rounds on the OU Health Sciences Center, with co-sponsorship from a wide range of local and state health agencies, business leaders and related organizations, on a variety of prevention topics including obesity, tobacco cessation, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, health policies, work force development, end of life care, emerging infectious disease, and health disparities for underserved populations.

The College's public health grand rounds are free and open to the public. Each is held at noon at the College in Oklahoma City and may be available via synchronous broadcast to the Tulsa Schusterman Campus. A light lunch, available on a first-come, first served basis, is served prior to each event, beginning at 11:30 a.m. No advance reservation needed.

Rochelle P. Walensky, MD, MPH “CDC’s Action Oriented Response to Public Health”

Dr. Walensky is the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Administrator of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry. She is an influential scholar whose pioneering research has helped advance the national and global response to HIV/AIDS. Dr. Walensky is also a well-respected expert on the value of testing and treatment of deadly viruses.
