Dr. Reinschmidt is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Promotion Sciences at the Hudson College of Public Health. Her research interests include community health workers, chronic disease prevention and health promotion, social determinants of health, community-based participatory intervention research, qualitative methods, reducing health disparities, increasing health equality, and social justice. Being trilingual in English, Spanish, and German, she has worked with multiethnic communities for nearly two decades. Dr. Reinschmidt is committed to supporting the community health workers workforce in Oklahoma (as well as its multiethnic, underserved communities) through applied intervention research. Over the past 3 years, she has developed and implemented diabetes and dementia trainings for community health workers.
