The goals of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) training project grant (TPG) are:
- to attract highly qualified and motivated students, including individuals with
cultural or linguistic fluency related to underserved populations, into the
industrial hygiene profession
- to recruit students with diverse technical backgrounds who are interested in
entering the industrial hygiene field
- to recruit and train very promising research-oriented students in industrial
hygiene research.
TPG funds are used
to support six traineeship slots per year, to be filled by full-time
masters-level or PhD trainees.
All full-time MS students at the Department of
Occupational and Environmental Health will be automatically considered as
trainee candidates. Recipients of the NIOSH training grants need to be US
citizens or permanent residents. MS trainees may be supported on the TPG for up
to 24 months with partial tuition remission and monthly stipend. For details
