Daryn is a two-time OU graduate, earning both her bachelor and master’s degree from OU. Daryn is passionate about public health and is committed to improving lives and the health status of the most vulnerable populations.

The 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient for the Department of Health Promotion Sciences is Ms. Heather Ward, a 2001 MPH alumna.
Heather is a two-time OU graduate, having earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry in 1997 and a Master's Degree in Public Health in 2001.
She began her public health career in the fall of 2001 at the Logan County Health Department. She currently holds the position of Health Educator III and provides services to eight local county health departments located in Northwest Oklahoma.
With over 20 years of experience within the Health Education discipline, Heather continues to make contributions to Oklahoma’s public health system by encouraging residents to achieve wellness where they live, work, play, and pray. [Read More]

Cuyler earned his MPH in 2008. Cuyler has an impressive career as a public health professional with significant contributions to tribal health disparities, data collection, linkage and analysis, and building tribal health capacity. Kaitlin McGrew

Dr. Kaitlin McGrew, 2022 Young Alumni Professional Award Recipient!

The 2022 Young Alumni Professional Award recipient for the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology is Dr. Kaitlin McGrew!
Kaitlin is a three-time OUHSC graduate, having earned her bachelor of nursing in 2013, her MS in Epidemiology in 2015 and her PhD in 2019.
Kaitlin came to public health after working as a nurse at The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital and Passport Health, an immunization clinic in Oklahoma City. In this position, she traveled across the state of Oklahoma administering adolescent and adult vaccines at school and worksite clinics. Through this experience as a nurse, Kaitlin developed in-depth understanding of clinical settings and the opportunities for research. This inspired her to pursue her epidemiology degrees. Sara C. Low, MPH, CPH, 2022 Young Alumni Professional Award Recipient!

The 2022 Young Alumni Professional Award recipient for Interdisciplinary Public Health is Ms. Sara C. Low, a 2016 MPH graduate. 
Sara earned a Certification in Public Health from the National Board of Health Examiners.  Throughout her career, she has demonstrated outstanding leadership related to her field, and has achieved distinctive and notable accomplishments professionally and through community service.
Sara has worked in the area of health equity and access since she was in graduate school. In her practicum work with the Oklahoma City Planning Department, Sara modified a field tool and evaluated Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance at key bus stops in Oklahoma City. [Read More]
