The COVID-19 Committee (C19C) is a student-led committee that recruits and connects OUHSC students to COVID-19 projects and initiatives happening on campus. The C19C also recognizes student involvement in the fight to end the pandemic.

Jarad Anderson, a medical student in the OU College of Medicine, served as a senior clinical lead for the Unity Clinic + OU Health community vaccine clinic partnership. In this role, he volunteered more 250 hours from January 2021 to October 2021 at COVID-19 community vaccination clinics. His main responsibilities included the recruitment of clinical volunteers, training volunteers in safe injection practices and on-site coordination and supervision of clinical volunteers. He assisted with vaccine clinics, administering and overseeing a total of over 35,000 vaccinations. He credits his team of medical students and public health students from the Unity Clinic who served the community at a time of great need. As a recognition of our efforts, the Unity Clinic Vaccination Team was awarded the George E. Thibault, M.D. Nexus Award from the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education for exemplary interprofessional collaboration and creation of unique partnerships that met critical needs for our community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you are a student who has been (or is) involved in the fight to end the pandemic, please connect with the C19C at https://bit.ly/3sFuR8z to have your contributions recognized.
