We’re #HonoringJulieStoner, our beloved colleague who lost her battle with cancer in 2020.

“Dr. Stoner was my advisor for my master’s degree and the first part of my PhD program. I learned so much from her mentorship in the years that we worked together. Dr. Stoner helped me become the researcher, collaborator, and teacher that I am today. I hope I can pass on to others just a small fraction of what she taught me. She made a huge impact in my life, both professionally and personally. I miss her mentorship but will never forget how she inspired me.

I want to thank those who contributed to the Julie A. Stoner Scholarship. Receiving this award in 2020 contributed to my professional development by alleviating financial concerns and allowing more time for research and training. It was an honor to receive this scholarship in memory of Dr. Stoner.” – Lance Ford

Dr. Julie Stoner served as Professor of Biostatistics, Associate Dean for Research and Chair of the Biostatistics and Epidemiology Department. She held the Edward E. and Helen T. Bartlett Chair in Public Health, and was recognized for her academic excellence as both a Presidential Professor and a David Ross Boyd Professor.  Dr. Stoner made outstanding contributions to each of the College’s missions of teaching, research and public health service.
