OU-Tulsa to Host Free One-Day Trauma-Informed Nutrition Training

Published: Monday, March 20, 2023

On April 12th, OU-Tulsa will be hosting a one-day training workshop on trauma-informed nutrition that will be facilitated by Leah’s Pantry, a national leader in trauma-informed nutrition education. The event is organized by HaruvUSA, the OU Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work, and the Root Cause Food Equity Lab at OU-Tulsa. This workshop will provide an introduction to the intersection between trauma and nutrition, including implications for children, families, and adults. The afternoon will allow for a deeper dive into how you can directly apply trauma-informed principles in your work or research to build resilience within the patients and communities that you serve. Techniques and considerations for supporting clients and patients in their health behavior change efforts will be included. The event includes free breakfast and lunch thanks to the generosity of HaruvUSA and the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.

The training team will work to tailor the workshop based on the experience and interests of attendees, so if you’d like to attend, please complete your registration as soon as possible to ensure your interests are incorporated into the agenda.

You can access the registration link and read more details about the event here: https://haruv-usa.org/events/implementing-trauma-informed-nutrition-with-families-and-children/

Half-day and full-day registration options are available.
