On April 10, during the HSC Student Awards Ceremony, Amaya Ngo, a Master of Health Administration (MHA) student at the OU Hudson College of Public Health, was formally recognized for receiving the Oklahoma Hospital Association’s (OHA) David J. Falcone Student Achievement Award.
Presented annually at the OHA’s December business meeting, the award honors a health administration student who has demonstrated exceptional academic and professional achievement. It was renamed in 1996 to commemorate the late Dr. David J. Falcone, who served as professor and chair of the Department of Health Administration and Policy at the OU College of Public Health from 1992 to 1996.
Ngo’s recognition reflects her outstanding commitment to leadership, service, and advancing the future of healthcare. In addition to her academic success, she has served as the community relations chair for the OU Healthcare Executives Student Association and as the all-benefits chair within the Student Government Association.
Ngo earned her bachelor’s degree in health and society with a minor in health communication from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2022. She recently completed a competitive administrative internship with UT Southwestern in Dallas, where she gained valuable experience in healthcare operations and strategy.
Set to graduate in December 2025, Ngo is passionate about using her education and experiences to improve healthcare access and equity in her community.
The Hudson College of Public Health proudly congratulates Amaya Ngo on this well-deserved recognition and looks forward to the impact she will continue to make in the field of health administration.
