Introducing Dr. Anne Pate: Leading the Way in Undergraduate Public Health & Community Health Programs

We are excited to announce Dr. Anne Pate as the Director of Undergraduate Public Health, and Population and Community Health Programs. This position is jointly appointed between the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences (DFCAS) and the Hudson College of Public Health (HCPH).

In this position, she will oversee the three established undergraduate major programs (Bachelor in Public Health and BA and BS degrees in Population and Community Health) through coordinating recruitment and retention efforts, building the network of providers for practicum placements, internships, and capstone research opportunities, coordinating the curriculum, overseeing development of online course offerings and facilitating career placement and pathways to the OU MPH program.

Dr. Pate joins us from Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she was an associate professor in the Allied Health Science Division. She also served as the Director of the Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health Program that was started as a new degree option for SWOSU students. Prior to that, she had 10 years of experience working for state government as an epidemiologist. In addition to data analysis, publications and presentations she provided oversight as the Chronic Disease Service Surveillance Administrative Program Manager.

Dr. Pate completed her Ph.D. in Occupational and Environmental Health at the OU College of Public Health. She earned her Master’s in Public Health in Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases from the Yale College of Public Health and her BS in Science Secondary Education from Taylor University.
