During the 50th Annual Graduate Research Education and Technology (GREAT) Symposium held in early April, Emily Kinyanjui, a Master of Health Administration and Policy student at the Hudson College of Public Health, proudly represented the college by presenting her research in both the Poster Presentations and Flash Talk Finals.
Her project, titled “Ensuring Accuracy in Hospital Finance Performance Assessments,” explores critical methods to improve the precision of financial evaluations in hospital settings—an area of growing importance in healthcare administration. Kinyanjui’s research aims to support better decision-making and accountability in health systems by ensuring that performance assessments accurately reflect financial realities.
Kinyanjui is mentored by Dr. Aizhan Karabukayeva, faculty in the Department of Health Administration and Policy, who has provided guidance throughout the research process.
The GREAT Symposium, hosted annually by the OUHSC Graduate College, celebrates student research and scholarly achievement across the health sciences campus. This year’s 50th anniversary marked a milestone in highlighting the innovative work of students like Kinyanjui who are contributing to advancements in public health and healthcare administration.
The Hudson College of Public Health congratulates Emily Kinyanjui on her achievement and thanks her for her dedication to improving hospital finance systems through thoughtful and impactful research.
