Anne Kapka received her Bachelor of Science in Community Health from the University of Oklahoma and her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the OU Hudson College of Public Health, where she is currently a third-year PhD candidate in Epidemiology. Since 2021, she has served as a Graduate Research Assistant (GRA). Anne collaborates with the Oklahoma State Department of Health and the Oklahoma Healthy Brain Initiative (OHBI) Coalition on program evaluations, where she has gained valuable experience in data collection and management.
Anne’s research focuses on healthy brain aging and qualitative research methodologies to break down silos, enhance patient interactions, and improve health outcomes across Oklahoma’s healthcare system. She has presented her work on the health and resource access of Alzheimer’s caregivers at several conferences, including the Tribal Public Health Conference (TPHC), the Oklahoma Public Health Association (OPHA) Annual Conference, and the Graduate Research Education and Technology (GREAT) Symposium. Anne is actively involved in academic service and education, serving on departmental and college committees and as a teaching assistant, guest lecturing, and judging undergraduate research posters. Her commitment to student leadership is demonstrated through her previous roles as Vice President and President of the Biostatistics and Epidemiology Student Association (BSESA), and her current role as a Senator in the Student Government Association (SGA), representing the Graduate Student Association (GSA).
Outside of her academic pursuits, Anne enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new hobbies, and traveling.
