We are delighted to announce that Dr. Sixia Chen, a faculty member in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the Hudson College of Public Health, has been elected as the COCGB District 4 Vice Chair of the American Statistical Association (ASA). This prestigious national leadership role underscores Dr. Chen’s exceptional contributions to the field of statistics and his esteemed reputation among peers.

Dr. Chen’s appointment places him at the forefront of the ASA, one of the foremost professional associations for statisticians. His selection reflects the high regard in which he is held by colleagues and the broader statistical community.

District 4 encompasses a vast and diverse geographic area, spanning multiple states including Central Arkansas, Central Illinois, Chicago, Colorado-Wyoming, Iowa, Kansas/Western Missouri, Mid-Missouri, Nebraska, Northeast Illinois, Oklahoma, St. Louis, Twin Cities, and Wisconsin. Dr. Chen’s leadership will advocate for statisticians across this extensive region.

The election required the vote of all leaders within the Council of Chapters of ASA, underscoring Dr. Chen’s respected status and influence within the field. Colleagues have placed their confidence in his leadership abilities.
