Elizabeth (Betsy) Charron, PhD, MS, MPH, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Sciences, Hudson College of Public Health (OU-Tulsa campus). Dr. Charron is a community-engaged health services researcher working to improve access and quality of healthcare delivery for individuals with or at-risk of developing substance use disorders. Her primary interest is conducting mixed methods population-based and clinical research on topics related to women’s health and addiction. Dr. Charron’s projects have focused on expanding access to perinatal substance use treatment, examining quality of care in reproductive health service provision, and evaluating approaches to reduce the burden of substance use and related problems on pregnant/parenting persons and their children. Dr. Charron received her PhD from Clemson University, MPH from Tulane University, and completed postdoctoral training at the Program of Addiction Research, Clinical Care, Knowledge and Advocacy (PARCKA), Division of Epidemiology, University of Utah School of Medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
