Nasir Mushtaq, PhD, MPH, MBBS, is an Associate Professor with tenure in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology and holds the George Kaiser Family Foundation Chair in Public Health Epidemiology. He has joint appointment at the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the OU‑TU School of Community Medicine (SCM). Trained as a medical doctor in Pakistan, Dr. Mushtaq received his Master of Public Health degree and PhD in epidemiology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC). He joined OUHSC, Tulsa as an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology in September 2011. In his current position, he is actively participating in all academic and professional activities; including teaching, research, and service. He is teaching graduate level epidemiology courses at the Hudson College of Public Health and research skills course at SCM. In addition to teaching graduate level courses, he is involved in the research training of medical residents and fellows. His primary research areas of interest include tobacco control, health disparities, psychometrics, and collaborative clinical research.  While serving as a faculty member in the Office for Research Development and Scholarly Activity, SCM and in the Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design Core (BERD) of the OSCTR, he is providing research methods support to investigators at the Colleges of Allied Health, Nursing, and Medicine. He has published numerous research articles in peer-reviewed research publications and has presented his research findings at various national and international conferences and scientific meetings.
