Please help us welcome our newest faculty member to the Hudson College of Public Health family!

Elizabeth (Betsy) Charron, PhD, MPH, MS, has joined the faculty at the Hudson College of Public Health, as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Promotion Sciences at OU-Tulsa. Dr. Charron comes to us from the Program of Addiction Research, Clinical Care, Knowledge and Advocacy (PARCKA) in the Division of Epidemiology, University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Charron is a community-engaged health services researcher working to improve access and quality of healthcare delivery for individuals with or at-risk of developing substance use disorders. Her primary interest is conducting mixed methods population-based and clinical research on topics related to women’s health and addiction.

Dr. Charron’s projects have focused on expanding access to perinatal substance use treatment, examining quality of care in reproductive health service provision, and evaluating approaches to reduce the burden of substance use and related problems on pregnant/parenting individuals and their children. Dr. Charron received her PhD from Clemson University, MPH from Tulane University, and completed postdoctoral training at University of Utah. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
