The COVID-19 Committee (C19C) is a student-led committee that recruits and connects OUHSC students to COVID-19 projects and initiatives happening on campus. The C19C also recognizes student involvement in the fight to end the pandemic.
Gabrielle “Gabbi” Westbrook, an MPH candidate in Health Administration and Policy, worked with Dr. Zhao's team researching and reporting on the COVID-19 health sector response of the US and many other countries, to learn from others like Germany, UK, and France and highlight what the US was doing well in terms of allocating scarce resources. Gabbi also worked with the Center for Public Health Practice, helping to facilitate community listening sessions and taking notes during meetings with stakeholders regarding strengths of local level and multi-sector pandemic responses. Overall the purpose of Gabbis’s work has been to develop policies for improved statewide preparedness and response to public health emergencies.
If you are a student who has been (or is) involved in the fight to end the pandemic, please connect with the C19C at https://bit.ly/3sFuR8z to have your contributions recognized.
