C19C Student Feature: Vaishnavi Kumar

The COVID-19 Committee (C19C) is a student-led committee that recruits and connects OUHSC students to COVID-19 projects and initiatives happening on campus. The C19C also recognizes student involvement in the fight to end the pandemic.

Vaishnavi Kumar, a bachelor of public health student, volunteered at Manos Juntas clinic in Oklahoma City for more than 18 months. She helped to educate patients about COVID-19 and offered information on vaccine access and counseling. During her time at the clinic, her team assisted with COVID-19 testing and offered COVID-19 vaccines for patients to receive at the clinic at certain points in the year.
