The Hudson College of Public Health is proud to recognize Dr. Junying Zhao, who has been selected as a member of Leadership Oklahoma Class 39 — a prestigious statewide leadership program that brings together 52 leaders from across Oklahoma.

Through the 10-month program, Dr. Zhao will join leaders from across the state to explore Oklahoma’s opportunities, challenges and resources while gaining a deeper understanding of the issues shaping communities. The program fosters collaboration among participants from a wide range of backgrounds and creates a network of leaders committed to identifying and implementing solutions that strengthen the state.

A faculty member in the Department of Health Administration and Policy, Dr. Zhao’s work focuses on addressing complex challenges within the health care system. As a health economics and policy researcher, she examines issues related to health care financing through a multidisciplinary lens, drawing on knowledge from medicine, law and economics to better understand and improve the systems that influence health outcomes.

Dr. Zhao’s participation in Leadership Oklahoma will provide opportunities to build new partnerships, exchange ideas with leaders across industries and bring fresh perspectives back to her students, colleagues and research collaborations. Her involvement reflects the important role public health leaders play in connecting research, policy and community needs to create meaningful change.
