Dr. Sixia Chen Receives 2025 ASA Outstanding Chapter Service Award

Dr. Sixia Chen, associate professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the OU Hudson College of Public Health, has been honored with the 2025 Outstanding Chapter Service Award by the American Statistical Association (ASA).
This national award recognizes ASA members who have made exceptional contributions to their local chapters. Dr. Chen was selected for his outstanding leadership and service to the Oklahoma Chapter of the ASA, where he served as President from 2024 to 2025. His commitment to advancing statistical education and collaboration in the region has had a lasting impact.
In addition to his role as chapter president, Dr. Chen organized the 3rd Oklahoma Biostatistics Conference, led the coordination of a summer ASA travel course, and facilitated numerous workshops that brought together statisticians, researchers, and students from across the state. These events have strengthened the professional community and promoted continued learning and innovation in biostatistics.
