Help Preserve Hudson College History: Share Your Public Health Story

Published: Monday, June 29, 2026

The history of the Hudson College of Public Health is more than a timeline of milestones—it's a collection of people, experiences and moments that have shaped public health in Oklahoma and beyond.

As the college develops a permanent, immersive history installation, alumni, current and former faculty, staff and researchers are invited to help tell that story by sharing their firsthand experiences during some of the most significant public health events of the past several decades.

From the response to the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and tornado recovery efforts across the state to the COVID-19 pandemic and other public health crises, members of the Hudson College community have stepped forward to serve, lead, conduct research and improve the health of communities when it mattered most.

The college is seeking stories from individuals who were connected to Hudson College during these defining moments—whether as a student, faculty member, researcher or staff member—and whose experiences were shaped in part by that connection.

Contributors are encouraged to share:

  • Personal stories and reflections
  • Photos from the field, classroom or community
  • Research projects, partnerships and public health initiatives
  • How these experiences influenced their careers and perspectives

Selected submissions may become part of the college's permanent history installation through visual displays, digital storytelling elements and archival materials, helping preserve Hudson College's legacy for future generations of students, faculty and public health leaders.

"This project is about capturing the people behind the work," said Dean Bratzler. "Our alumni and faculty have played important roles in some of the most significant public health events of our time. Their stories deserve to be preserved and shared so future generations can better understand the impact public health professionals have on our communities."

Individuals interested in participating are encouraged to complete the short project questionnaire and upload any supporting photos or materials. Submissions are requested by Aug. 3 for consideration in the history installation.

Every story helps tell the larger story of Hudson College and the people who have dedicated their careers to protecting and improving public health. By sharing your experience, you'll help preserve a legacy that will educate and inspire generations to come.

Ready to share your story? Complete the questionnaire and submit your materials by Aug. 3.
