Two faculty members from the OU Hudson College of Public Health recently shared their expertise on leadership in health administration at a national forum held in conjunction with the 2025 ACHE Congress on Healthcare Leadership in Chicago.

Gerry Ibay, JD, MHA, and Halley Reeves, MPH, both faculty members in the Department of Health Administration and Policy, were invited to present at a session hosted by the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA). Their session, titled Advanced 21st Century Leadership, offered a dynamic and forward-thinking exploration of the evolving leadership needs in the healthcare industry.

Designed specifically for faculty members who already have experience teaching leadership, the session provided an opportunity to dig deeper into advanced concepts such as emotional intelligence, effective communication, navigating difficult conversations, team dynamics, talent management, and fostering inclusive environments within health organizations.

“This session was about pushing the boundaries of how we teach and understand leadership in the modern healthcare environment,” said Reeves. “It was incredibly valuable to be in a room with fellow educators who are equally passionate about developing the next generation of health leaders.”

Held during one of the most prominent gatherings in the field, the presentation highlighted the Hudson College’s commitment to thought leadership and its active role in shaping the future of health administration education nationwide.
