Hudson College Staff Member Named a 2026 NextGen Under 30 Winner

Emily McDaniel, MPH, a senior program evaluation coordinator in the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the University of Oklahoma Hudson College of Public Health, has been named a 2026 NextGen Under 30 winner in the Policy and Public Service category.

The statewide recognition honors young Oklahomans whose leadership, innovation and commitment are making a meaningful difference in their professions and communities. McDaniel’s selection reflects both her dedication to public service and her growing impact in the field of public health.

As a Senior Program Evaluation Coordinator, McDaniel partners with the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust to assess the effectiveness and impact of public health programs across the state. This work allows organizations to understand what is working, identify opportunities for improvement, and better serve their communities. Her role brings together collaboration, data, and a commitment to improving health outcomes, demonstrating how thoughtful evaluation can strengthen programs and inform decisions.

For McDaniel, the recognition marks a meaningful milestone in a public health career that began in the classroom and continues through her work at the Hudson College. It also reflects the impact that early-career professionals can make when they pair their education with a commitment to serving others.

Founded in 2011, the NextGen Under 30 Leadership and Award Recognition Program identifies and honors innovative and inspiring Oklahomans age 30 and younger. Over the past 15 years, the program has recognized approximately 4,900 individuals from companies and organizations throughout the state.

McDaniel’s recognition highlights the important contributions young professionals are making to Oklahoma’s future.
