Peck Appointed Interim Chair of the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology

Dr. Jennifer Peck has been appointed as the Interim Chair for the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology (BSE) effective June 17, 2024. Dr. Peck brings to this position her comprehensive leadership experience, deep knowledge of Public Health, and nationally recognized research and scholarship.
Dr. Peck has been a leader and critical contributor to the University, College, and Department for 20 years. Having served as the Vice Chair of the Department of BSE and the Director of the Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) Core of the Oklahoma Shared Clinical and Translational Resources (OSCTR) since 2020, she is consistently recognized for her leadership, collaborations, outstanding teaching, and mentorship of learners at all levels.
Beyond her leadership roles and scholarly achievement, Dr. Peck has served as course director for more than 30 courses with a remarkable range of course content in which she excels at imparting to her students. Many of these students have gone on to become faculty as well as top-notch researchers. It is not only the volume, breadth and depth of her remarkable teaching and mentoring, but the profound positive impact on students' lives that Dr. Peck has demonstrated consistently, year in and year out, over the course of her faculty career at the University of Oklahoma.
A national search will be conducted for the next Department Chair.
