Unforgettable Women in Oklahoma History

March is Women’s History Month and our Office of Sovereignty, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion will be paying tribute over the next few weeks to the generations of women whose commitment to nature and the planet have proved invaluable to society.

Vicki Miles LaGrange: 1st African American woman to be a U.S. Attorney in Oklahoma.

Rita Aragon: 1st woman in Oklahoma to command a unit, a base, and ultimately the Oklahoma Air National Guard.

Kate Barnard: 1st woman to be elected as an Oklahoma State official.
