How to Apply

All application materials must be submitted by the deadlines listed below for full consideration. Most Hudson College of Public Health applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and applications will be reviewed as they are completed. The PhD Health Promotion Sciences program has a set deadline, and all applications for this program will be reviewed after the deadline. The Biostatistics and Epidemiology PhD Fall Applications have a priority deadline of December 1 to be given the highest priority for admissions and consideration for Graduate Research Funding.

US Applicants

• Applicants to the following on-campus programs must submit an official transcript from each U.S. and Canadian college/university attended to SOPHAS or HAMPCAS. Follow the instructions for sending your transcripts to SOPHAS here or HAMPCAS here. You will need a copy of your transcripts available for you to complete the application's coursework section. Do not enter foreign courses taken at universities outside the U.S. or Canada.

International Applicants  

Applicants with international college/university coursework (excluding Canada) are required to submit transcripts/mark sheets to World Education Services (www.wes.org) or Education Credential Evaluators (www.ece.org) for a course-by-course evaluation. If utilizing World Education Services (WES), designate SOPHAS or HAMPCAS to receive the evaluation. If utilizing Education Credential Evaluators (ECE), have ECE send your evaluation to the OU Health Campus by email at Admissions@ouhsc.edu or by mail to:

If you are an international applicant, you are required to demonstrate English proficiency.  This can be satisfied by submitting TOEFL or IELTS scores that meet the minimum required score. Additional information about the English proficiency requirement is available at OU Health Sciences' English Proficiency Requirements page.  

• TOEFL scores should be submitted to SOPHAS using the designation code #5688.

• IELTS scores should be submitted by following the instructions on the IELTS website. OU Health Sciences accepts paper Test Report Forms. Norman Campus students need to email their official scores to phadmissions@ou.edu

Personal Statement

Create a Personal Statement/Statement of Purpose in a word processing program. Upload it to the respective application: 

• On-Campus Programs: Upload it to the SOPHAS (all programs are available through SOPHAS) or HAMPCAS application (Master of Health Administration program is available through HAMPCAS and SOPHAS – you can apply through either). Complete instructions are within the respective applications. 
• Online Programs: Online and Dual Norman/OU Health Sciences Programs - Upload it to the OU Health Sciences Supplemental Application.

Current CV/Resume

Create a CV/Resume in a word processing program. Upload it to the respective application: 

• On-Campus Programs: Upload it to the SOPHAS (all programs are available through SOPHAS) or HAMPCAS application (Master of Health Administration program is available through HAMPCAS and SOPHAS – you can apply through either). Complete instructions are within the respective applications.
