Ready to take the next step toward a career in public health? Applications for spring 2027 are now open. The OU Hudson College of Public Health is Oklahoma’s only CEPH-accredited school of public health, offering a straightforward application process designed to help you get started.

All applicants should review this webpage in its entirety to understand the admission and application requirements before beginning the application. All applicants should begin with the OU Health Campus application. Applicants to online programs will submit any required program-specific materials through this application, as outlined on the program’s webpage. Applicants to on-campus programs must also complete a SOPHAS or HAMPCAS application. Explore the information below for application requirements and step-by-step instructions for your program.

General Application Guidelines

Application Deadlines

All application materials must be submitted by the deadlines listed below for full consideration. Most Hudson College of Public Health applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and applications will be reviewed as they are completed. The PhD Health Promotion Sciences program is the only one that has a set deadline, and all applications for this program will be reviewed after the deadline.

US Applicants

  • Applicants to the following on-campus programs must submit an official transcript from each U.S. and Canadian college/university attended to SOPHAS or HAMPCAS. Follow the instructions for sending your transcripts to SOPHAS here or HAMPCAS here. You will need a copy of your transcripts available for you to complete the application's coursework section. Do not enter foreign courses taken at universities outside the U.S. or Canada.

International Applicants  

Applicants with international college/university coursework (excluding Canada) are required to submit transcripts/mark sheets to World Education Services (www.wes.org) or Education Credential Evaluators (www.ece.org) for a course-by-course evaluation. If utilizing World Education Services (WES), designate SOPHAS or HAMPCAS to receive the evaluation. If utilizing Education Credential Evaluators (ECE), have ECE send your evaluation to the OU Health Campus by email at Admissions@ouhsc.edu or by mail to:

English Language Proficiency

If you are an international applicant, you are required to demonstrate English proficiency.  This can be satisfied by submitting TOEFL or IELTS scores that meet the minimum required score. Additional information about the English proficiency requirement is available at OU Health Sciences' English Proficiency Requirements page.  

  • TOEFL scores should be submitted to SOPHAS using the designation code #5688.
  • IELTS scores should be submitted by following the instructions on the IELTS website. OU Health Sciences accepts paper Test Report Forms. Norman Campus students need to email their official scores to phadmissions@ou.edu

Personal Statement and Current CV/Resume

Personal Statement

Create a Personal Statement/Statement of Purpose in a word processing program. Upload it to the respective application: 

  • On-Campus Programs: Upload it to the SOPHAS (all programs are available through SOPHAS) or HAMPCAS application (Master of Health Administration program is available through HAMPCAS and SOPHAS – you can apply through either). Complete instructions are within the respective applications. 
  • Online Programs: Online and Dual Norman/OU Health Sciences Programs - Upload it to the OU Health Sciences Supplemental Application.

Current CV/Resume

Create a CV/Resume in a word processing program. Upload it to the respective application: 

  • On-Campus Programs: Upload it to the SOPHAS (all programs are available through SOPHAS) or HAMPCAS application (Master of Health Administration program is available through HAMPCAS and SOPHAS – you can apply through either). Complete instructions are within the respective applications.

Biostatistics and Epidemiology

All Biostatistics and Epidemiology (BSE) programs require the OU Health Campus Application (also referred to as a “supplemental application”) and a SOPHAS application. For international students, a TOEFL score of 4.5 (new scoring system),  TOEFL score of 79 (prior scoring system), or IELTS score of 6.5 is required for admission. Click here for additional information.

All Health Administration and Policy (HAP) programs require the OU Health Campus Application (also referred to as a “supplemental application”) and a SOPHAS application. Applicants applying for the Master of Health Administration (MHA) program may apply through SOPHAS or HAMPCAS. All Occupational and Environmental Health (OEH) programs require the OU Health Campus Application (also referred to as a “supplemental application”) and a SOPHAS application. Community and Population Health Programs and Dual Degree Programs

The below programs require the OU Health Campus Application (also referred to as a “supplemental application”). The MPH in Community & Population Health on-campus program also requires a SOPHAS application (for information on how to apply for the online program, click here). It is required to submit a short and free OU Heath Campus Application for all OU Hudson College of Public Health Certificate, MPH, MHA, eMHA, MS, and PhD programs. The following programs must submit the OU Health Campus Application:

SOPHAS or HAMPCAS Application Fee Waivers

SOPHAS offers some fee waivers to qualified applicants on a first-come, first-service basis. You can learn more about their fee waivers here. Please direct fee waiver questions to SOPHAS by phone at 617-612-2090.

HAMPCAS does not offer fee waivers.
