Biostatistics & Epidemiology Research Projects

The Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology is at the forefront of advancing population health science. The department combines biostatistics, epidemiology, and informatics to address critical health challenges. Our collaborative approach drives research in areas such as infectious diseases, cancer, cardiovascular, reproduction and clinical and genetic epidemiology. Use of high-dimensional statistics and data science informs evidence-based public health responses.

  • Wastewater Surveillance: Leveraging analytical techniques to monitor wastewater for early signs of disease outbreaks.
  • Cancer Epidemiology: Investigating cancer risk factors and outcomes to improve prevention and treatment strategies.
  • Indigenous Health Equity: Collaborating on the Strong Heart Study to address American Indian health disparities.
  • Novel Methodologies: Applying novel statistical methods to study cardiovascular diseases and tobacco epidemiology.

Health Administation & Policy Research Projects

The Department of Occupational & Environmental Health (OEH) at the Hudson College of Public Health is dedicated to understanding how humans interact with their environment and vice versa.
